This guide will walk you through a number of proven solutions and fixes for when you’re having Amazon Fire Stick Spotify app trouble.

Problems covered include those that affect casting Spotify to a Fire Stick from another device and listening to podcasts and music directly on the Fire Stick itself via the official Spotify Fire Stick app.

The issues and solutions on this page apply to both the Spotify app and the Spotify casting feature on all Amazon Fire Stick models.

How to Fix Amazon Fire Stick Spotify Problems

Here are all of the best solutions for Spotify Fire Stick issues listed from easiest to more complex. It’s recommended to work through the list in order as often the easiest solution is the one which works.

    1. Unmute your TV and speakers. This may sound like an easy mistake to make but it’s also a common one. Check to see if your TV and connected speakers have been muted either by yourself or another user.

    2. Is Spotify down? Your setup may be fine and it could be Spotify itself is having issues.

    3. Check your Wi-Fi connection. If you’re casting Spotify to your Fire Stick from another device, both will need to be on the same Wi-Fi network.

    4. Turn off Airplane mode. Airplane mode can disable your device’s Wi-Fi connection which is needed to cast Spotify content to your Fire Stick.

    5. Turn on your device’s Wi-Fi. If you’re using an iPhone or Android smartphone, you may just be connected to a cellular network. Turn on Wi-Fi via the usual iOS and Android controls to see if this helps.

    6. Restart your internet router and modem. The problem could be your internet connection. A router or modem restart can improve the connection and fix any issues which may have been happening.

    7. Update the Spotify app on your Fire Stick. Older versions of the Spotify Fire Stick app have been known to have playback issues.

    8. Check for other Fire Stick updates. The Fire Stick itself may need an operating system update to fix streaming or audio problems.

    9. Restart your Fire Stick. A quick restart can fix a number of bugs and glitches. To do this, hold Select and Play until the Fire Stick turns off.

    10. Update the Spotify mobile or computer app. If you’re having trouble casting Spotify music or podcasts from your smart device, update its app to the latest version.

    11. Turn your Fire Stick off and on again. Sometimes the Spotify mobile app can have trouble detecting devices to cast to. With the app open, turn the Fire Stick off, wait a few seconds, and then turn it on again.

    12. Stick to the Amazon Fire Stick Spotify app. You don’t have to cast music from your computer or smart device to use Spotify on your Fire Stick. Try logging into the Spotify app on your Fire Stick with your remote and browsing the music app directly.

    13. Uninstall and reinstall the Spotify app. The app installation may have been corrupted. Removing it and then downloading it again can fix this issue.

    14. Use Spotify on a different device. If you still can’t get Spotify working on your Fire Stick, try using a Spotify app on another device such as your smart TV or video game console such as an Xbox or PlayStation. You may have several alternatives you’re unaware of.

    15. Reset your Fire Stick. As a last resort, resetting your Fire Stick to its Factory settings may work, though it will delete all of the apps you’ve installed since you set it up.

Does Spotify Work on Fire Stick Streaming Sticks?

The Spotify music service works on all Amazon Fire Stick models.

Users can listen to Spotify podcasts and music either directly on the official Fire Stick Spotify app or by wirelessly casting content to a Fire Stick from another device with the Spotify app installed.

The Spotify app is available on Windows PCs and Android and iOS devices.

How Do You Restart Spotify on Fire Stick?

One alternative solution to try is to restart the Spotify Fire Stick app.

To do this, select Settings > Applications > Manage Installed Applications > Spotify > Force Stop and then reopen the app.

How Do I Update Spotify on Fire TV or Fire Stick?

The process for updating the Fire Stick Spotify app is the same for updating all Fire Stick apps.

Simply highlight the Spotify app icon and select More Info > Update to check for updates and install one if there’s one available.

You may also want to turn on automatic app updates to make sure all of your Fire Stick apps are up-to-date at all times. To do this, select Settings > Apps & Notifications > Appstore > Automatic Updates On.

Why Is My Fire Stick Not Loading Streams?

If your Fire Stick is having trouble streaming audio or video content, it’s possible the streaming service you’re using is down or your internet connection is too slow.

One easy solution for this problem is to download the files you want to listen to in the Spotify app on your mobile device or computer. Then, cast them to your Fire Stick to listen to or watch on your TV.

This way you don’t have to worry about disconnections, long loading times, or buffering which can happen when streaming Spotify content.

Causes of Spotify Not Working on Amazon Fire Stick

Fire Stick Spotify problems are usually caused by a poor internet connection. Another common culprit is incorrect Wi-Fi settings on the streaming stick or the connected smart device.

An out-of-date Spotify app or Fire Stick can also cause streaming problems that affect the streaming and listening experience.
